At the age of six Carlos started getting classical percussion and solfège lessons in his home town, Badajoz, and he started to perform in the local scene at eleven years old.
He continued as a self-taught musician until he met Juan de la Oliva, who introduced him into the American jazz tradition. Some years later when he moved to Valencia, he started getting lessons from Jeff Jerolamon and Jo Krause and formed part of the Valencian jazz scene - performing with artists such as Voro García, Jesús Santandreu, Matt Baker, Garry Jackson, Vicente Maciá, Ramón Cardo, Alexey León, Miquel Álvarez and many others. During this time he also performed and toured with local pop bands in festivals such as Primavera Sound, Mad Cool or Low Festival.
In 2018 Carlos moved to The Netherlands to study at Conservatorium van Amsterdam. At the same time he took lessons with renowned jazz musicians Jonathan Blake, Carl Allen or Gregory Hutchinson.
Now based in Amsterdam, Carlos is working on many projects and tours frequently in Europe with different bands such as The Fried Seven, Pablo Castillo Quartet and Laura Dooge Quartet to name a few.
